We're a Cape Town-based full service film and stills production company for commercials, content, music videos, documentaries and corporate films. With our in-house creative talent and a select roster of independent directors we offer both service production and the full creative offering. Since 2009 we’ve collaborated with a wide range of global and local ad agencies, brands, broadcasters, artists, and production companies.
Our streamlined core team can scale up where others can't scale down. With years of hands-on experience in all creative and technical aspects, we maximise production value for any brief and budget.
With offices in Cape Town and Berlin we build a bridge between the European market and South Africa as a world class film production destination. But we've also shot with Americans in Madagascar and with Lebanese in Ghana. And in Mexico. And in the Phillipines. And in more than 40 other countries.

For the past 15 years, Massuda has been the driving force behind Berlin-based film production company Mutter&Vater. With a network all over Europe her expertise shines through in TV commercials, music videos, feature films and TV shows with some of the continent's freshest directing talent.
As a certified green consultant she also guides our commitment to sustainability at all stages of production.

Drawing years of experience in front of the camera and an innate entrepreneurial acumen, Makeeda drives the South African division of Butterfly Films, working alongside Felix on local projects.
FELIX SEUFFERT
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER / CAPE TOWN
Since co-founding Butterfly Films as a small company for NGO films in 2009, Felix has honed his producing skills with hands-on experience at every level in many places on the planet.
Now, also an established director and DOP, his production prowess stems from a unique blend of technical expertise, creative vision and a constant drive to do things smarter than they are usually done.

FELIX SEUFFERT
With a background in photojournalism, Felix combines a visceral and authentic storytelling with a highly cinematic visual language, which he applies in sports and fashion commercials and real-life narratives. As a director and DOP, Felix can work as a compact force and achieve incredible things with limited resources. His clients include Distell, Ackermans and BMW
KOFI ZWANA
Kofi plays more instruments than most people have socks and his talents in filmmaking are just as diverse. And while he is busy conquering the world with narrative work in the horror realm, his commercial oeuvre is full of quirky humour. Loud, colourful and silly he's made himself a name in food and automotive, but he's ready to branch out.
ROYD RINGDAHL
With a finger solidly on the pulse of youth culture, both contemporary and vintage, Royd never misses a chance to try something new and far out there. Nerdy obsession for visual trickery coupled with an urgent drive to create makes a powerful creative package with which he pushes from the music video arena into the advertising space.
Sustainability is at the core of our mission. That's why we partner with Eco Ninjas to eliminate single-use plastics on set where possible and recycle all recyclable waste.
Our production workflow is paper-free as far as possible.
